Getting Your Kid to Have A Healthy Diet

It is hard enough when it comes to providing your kid nutritious meals under the normal circumstances. And throw in all the changes that are associated with the quarantine, and it could seem just downright impossible.

Whether you have got a child who is a picky eater, or you find yourself getting the groceries less often, or you are finding your options to be limited, there are a few things that one can do to promote healthy eating.

Dealing with your picky eater

When you have a picky eater at home, it could be tough even in the easiest of times, but throw in a lack of structure from regular social activities or no school, and you may find your kid digging in their heels further. After all, eating is something that one can control, in situations that aren’t much in control.

Try allowing your child to choose what they’d like to put on their plate, suggests a teacher at the Play School in Manjalpur Vadodara. Your child may pick a banana or apple, or peas or green beans.

You can help your picky-eater in following ways too:

·         Getting involved in food preparation. Increasing number of families are choosing to cook at home and avoid ordering food from restaurants. Allow your kid to stir the food while it is being cooked, wash the produce, and if age-appropriate, chop the produce.

·         The teacher at the Nursery School in Vadodara suggests giving your kid smaller tastes of the new foods. Give your child smaller portions of food and allow them to use their own baby spoons to eat.
